All the labs coming under the department are well equipped and  these are having all the facilities as per the AICTE norms and academic requirements of the University of the Calicut.

The objective of the lab like Industrial Instrumentation is to provide experience on design, testing and analysis of few electronic circuits used in instrumentation system and to acquaint students with the measurement of various industry parameters. It has various transducers like thermocouple, RTD, thermistor for demonstrating the principles of measurement of physical quantity like temperature, strain, pressure, PH, level, flow etc.

 

The process control lab is to provide experience on control of various industrial processes using different control paradigms, and in development of virtual instrumentation systems for industrial application. This lab is equipped with bottle filling unit run on PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers). It also has flow process, level process control stations, cascade station, ratio station etc interfaced to computers.

 

The system simulation lab provides hands on experience to analyze and stimulate latest trends in the field of contro, signal processing & instrumentation. It is equipped with 35 computers with software like MATLAB, LABVIEW, VHDL etc. This lab facilitates students in gaining knowledge in software tools. Internet facility is also provided in this lab.

 

The Electronics, Power Electronics & Digital labs are equipped with a number of oscilloscopes, power supplies, IC trainer kits, Digital Multimeters and various electronic components to train the students in designing circuits used for analog, Digital and Power Electronic applications.
