IES College of Engineering has an active ISTE chapter for staff as also for the students. Staff members have the option to become life members. ISTE provides opportunities and forums for staff members to participate in and organize quality improvement programmes and technical programmes. Students get a platform to improve their communication and leadership skills by participating in ISTE activities.
IES College of Engineering is enrolled as an Institutional member (life IM) of the prestigious Institution of Engineers (India). The college is attached to the Thrissur chapter. The college is in the process of forming separate units for staff and students. The privileges of an Institution membership include life time free subscription of journals and free entry for delegates to the institution programmes.

Computer Society of India (since 1965) is the largest professional body where computer professionals meet to exchange views and information. The wide spectrum of members is committed to the advancement of theory and practice of Computer Engineering and Information Processing. The college opened the CSI Institution chapter and CSI Students' chapter in 2013 with students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering as members. HOD CSE, is the student branch counselor of CSI. The department regularly organizes technical events for the benefit of Staff and students.
The Women Development Cell of IES College of Engineering, Chittilappilly, Thrissur is committed to providing a platform for Girl students to gather, seek support, and advocate on issues relevant to them. The Cell promotes a campus culture that ensures the full participation and involvement of women students at IESCE.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) was introduced at IESCE in January 2007. Since then, it has attained strength of more than 100 student volunteers (Unit No 186). As a part of Independence Day celebrations, the volunteers visited "Thanal VMV", an orphanage at Kalathode, and spent quality time there. They shared the happiness and sorrows of Thanal inmates. The money collected from the "ONE DAY ONE RUPEE" programme was used to buy medicines for "NIRMAL SADAN EDAKALATHUR". The volunteers organized a "Oorjakendra Energy Generation" programme. They went from house to house throughout the Adaat Panchayath to spread awareness regarding energy conservation. The IES NSS volunteers conduct regular skill development programmes such as welding and paper bag making.
The academic institutions play an important role in the economic development of a country as they produce the right type of manpower needed by different sectors of the society. In view of the worldwide shortage of jobs (both government and private sectors); the cell strives to identify talented youth for entrepreneurial endeavours. The club plans to organize various programmes regarding entrepreneurship development.
The first batch of students who graduated in 2007 has formed IESCE Alumni Association. The college Principal is the Ex-Officio President and a faculty member is the Secretary. The primary objective of the association is to bring the alumni together and promote their continued interaction with the alma mater.
An Anti-Ragging cell is set up at the beginning of every academic year and it addresses all reported complaints. The committee members focus on the eradication of the menace and work towards maintaining true cordiality in interpersonal behaviour.
Soft skills that complement core competencies are in great demand. In order to survive and thrive in today's highly competitive environment, Organizations want people who are quick to adapt, creative at problem solving and good at relation building. Developing positive attitude, effective and efficient communication skills, good listening skills and time management are some of the important soft skills sought to be developed through these training programmes. In addition, students have to update their knowledge to have self-confidence, to handle criticism, withstand pressure, and develop greater flexibility. We have a team of faculty members to give counselling to all students.
