Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, it is one of the most active and productive departments at IES College of Engineering. The Department of Electrical Engineering was started in 2007. We pride in having the most vibrant faculty and well-groomed multidimensional students driven by self-motivation and quest to continuously improve. We already have a collaboration with KELTRON for conducting Electric Vehicle Assembly Technician course which started first in Kerala in our department.
The focus of the department is to produce quality and professional engineers to cater the needs of the society. We emphasis team work to give opportunity to each student to benefit from the ideas and innovations from the faculty as well as peers.
The placement of the department in various renowned public and private concerns like KSEBL, PDCIL, GVK Power, Tata Consultancy Services, Indian Railways, Indian Navy etc. The Department has well equipped laboratories like Basic Electrical and Electronics, Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Power System, Electrical Workshop, Electronics Measurement and Instrumentation, Control System and Project lab to meet the curriculum.
The lab facilities are timely upgraded to provide adequate opportunities for the students to learn and innovate. For the extra curriculum activities, the department has also established a technical society for the students by the name “EESA”. The objective is to provide the students a platform for collaborative growth by self-motivated action for enhancement of their managerial skills in addition to their technical skills. Expert Lectures, workshops and industrial visits are regularly organized for the students to enhance the practical knowledge and to interact with the recent technologies used in the industry
The department is active in organizing the various Energy Quiz, workshops and seminars for the growth and development of faculty and students’ research knowledge further. Our department students are also highly encouraged to implement their innovative ideas with the help of the expert faculty members and the available lab facilities in the department.
The Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduate has a wide range of career opportunities in Power industries, Government PSUs, R&D Units, IT industries, Electricity Boards/Utility companies, Telecommunications industries, Manufacturing industries, Private industrial firms and Startup companies.
